This article talks about the possibility of production of portland-composite cement in cement plant
Kakanj in accordance with the requirements of EN 197-1. By that standard cement class 52,5N must
have a compressive strenght greater or equal 20MPa after 2 days, and after 28 days greater or equal
52,5MPa. Portland-composite cement is composed of fly ash and granulated blast furnace slag.
Otherwise, using both of these addition, very high saving during clinker production process can be
achieved and mechanical properties of portland-composite cements would satisfy the standards by EN
197-1. Also, by replacing clinker with fly ash and granulated blast furnace slag could be, the
produced cement would be more environmentally friendly.
