Abstract

The study examined adsorption of Reactive Violet 5 (RV-5) textile dye from the aqueous environment on MFI zeolites as adsorbents at 283, 293 and 303 K. The reaction was observed on the original NH4ZSM-5 zeolite, a product of the Zeolyst International American company, and on the modified HZSM-5 zeolite. The concentration of dye before and after the adsorption was established spectrophotometrically on the Perkin Elmer UV/VIS Spectrometer Lambda 25. The mass dye
concentration was in the range from 5 mg/L to 50 mg/L. The obtained results showed that adsorption is more successful on the original NH4ZSM-5 zeolite, The characteristics of adsorption system are described by the Freundlich isotherm, whose form indicates that the adsorption in question is a physical multilayer one.
