Abstract

Manufacture of pulp for making paper and paperboard in the world has a rapid growth. The need for paper and cardboard is constantly increasing, but the limiting factor is the lack of raw materials - biomass. As a result, there has been a technological orientation to new types of raw materials, which, along with a modified chemical processing procedure provide fiber which could be successfully used for the production of various types of writing paper, printed paper, wrapping paper and technology paper. New raw materials, in fact, are parts of the tree which are after processing harvesting of timber remained in the forest such as branches, thin pieces of wood, degraded wood and wood components in the technical processing of wood, sawdust in sawmills, etc. In this way it is possible to increase total biomass for chemical processing without large investments and economic effects are significant. To increase biomass is another approach technologies using the whole tree that is closely related to the system of " ecology " with a high degree of organization of Forestry and technical means of processing the wood. The importance of the production of paper and paperboard in any society is large, because their consumption is an indicator of the level of economic and cultural development of society. Most states are trying to have their own production of pulp, provided that they have biomass. Otherwise, manufacture Paper and cardboard is process based on imported raw materials. Bosnia and Herzegovina has all the conditions for returning to the work function of the prewar production capacity of pulp, paper and board provided to ensure adequate institutional means , since it has a satisfactory amount of biomass, and while currently large quantities of paper and cardboard imported from neighboring countries.
