Refractory materials are an important part of industrial furnaces and metallurgical aggregates. With time and use, the wear out of refractory materials ocures and their replacement becomes necessary. Part of refractory material, which is removed after the demolition of industrial furnaces and metallurgical unit refractory linings, represents refractory waste, which is, with certain measures of collecting and sorting, to a large degree recyclable. Recycling of refractory waste depends on many factors, and may be in its reuse as a raw material in the refractory industry, in the production process of steel plant as a source material for the slag formation, the construction industry and etc. In the world, the use of recyclable refractory waste becomes more pronounced for the production of refractory materials. At the same, there is increasing pressure on the steel industry to reduce the impact on the environment through refractory waste disposal reduction to landfill, which can be achieved by higher utilization of refractory lining and recycling of refractory waste.
