In this paper will be presented a practical example of the fuel savings in the process of hot-dip
galvanizing. Reconstruction of the line is carried out during the transition of equipment from one to
another location. Total power of the melting furnace it was 2.4 MW, and hot air generator for drying
oven, has a power of 600 kW. With the new solution, natural gas is replaced with Liquefied Petroleum
Gas, and hot air generator was removed from the line. The completely new drying oven was designed,
which is heated with the waste heat of the flue gases in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas combustion
process. In the drying oven is designed and installed the heat exchanger, flue gas-air. The solution is
applied in practice and put into operation. First results show a full justification of the new solutions,
while dramatically reducing fuel consumption.
