The review of long-lasting investigations at Department of Metallurgical Engineering, Technical
Faculty in Bor, University of Belgrade in the field of thermodynamics and phase diagrams of
numerous gallium-based systems is presented in this paper. The results of investigation of some
binary and ternary systems, obtained experimentally (Oelsen calorimetry, thermal analysis, optical
microscopy, SEM-EDX), thermodynamic predicting (general solution model), as well as by phase
diagram calculation according to CALPHAD method, are shown in this presentation. Different well
known commercial thermodynamicsoftwares were used (Pandat,ThermoCalc).
