Abstract

Standard ISO-834 five curve does not represent any real fire situation, but exists in fully controlled laboratory standardized test conditions only. Parametric five curves take in consideration size and geometry of the fire compartment, probability of fire appearance, fire spread and duration, density and arrangement of fire load, importance of the building element considered for stability of the structure as whole and many other factors. These curves have been introduced in European
standardization by Eurocode 1 for the first time. In this paper, procedure for development of the appropriate parametric fire curves as action on the reinforced concrete structure was presented and this approach has been considered in doctoral dissertation by author.
