Abstract

Austempering is two steps heat treatment process that, when applied to ductile iron, produces
components that have properties superior to those processed by conventional treatment. Depending to
chosen heat treatment parameters different final properties of the casting are obtained. In this paper
heat treatment parameters for production of an extra high strength austempered ductile iron are
investigated
