Organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Zenica, the 15th Symposium with International Participation “Metallic and Nonmetallic Materials – Production, Properties, Application” (MNM 2025) was held on April 24–25, 2025. The Symposium was jointly organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (University of Zenica), Yeditepe University (Istanbul, Turkey), and the UCTEA – Chamber of Metallurgical and Materials Engineers of Turkey. The event was supported by ArcelorMittal Zenica and BH Telecom. The scientific program of the Symposium addressed a wide range of topics, including metallic and nonmetallic materials, chemistry, occupational safety and environmental protection, renewable energy sources, environmental engineering, and sustainable development. MNM 2025 was characterized by a notable international presence, emphasizing its expanding reach and creating valuable opportunities for future scientific collaboration. In total, 53 scientific and professional papers were presented, authored by more than 200 researchers from France, Turkey, Iran, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A special contribution to the organization was made by our partners Yeditepe University and UCTEA, who facilitated the participation of a significant number of authors from Turkey. The organizers also express their gratitude to the University of Poitiers (France) and the Institute for Technology of Nuclear and Other Mineral Raw Materials (ITNMS) Belgrade, for the high-quality plenary presentations delivered by their representatives, which significantly contributed to the scientific level of the event. The first day of the Symposium was dedicated to professional sessions and intensive exchange of experiences. On the second day, a trip to Sarajevo was organized for the participants, allowing international guests to become acquainted with the rich culture, history, and landmarks of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus further strengthening cultural exchange and mutual understanding. On the sidelines of the Symposium, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (FIPN) and the Faculty of Metallurgy in Sisak, University of Zagreb. The agreement was signed by the deans of the respective faculties. Once again, the MNM Symposium confirmed its importance in connecting science, profession, and industry, as well as in strengthening international cooperation in the fields of materials and engineering. Participants unanimously expressed their readiness to intensify scientific cooperation through joint applications for international projects, researcher exchanges, and active involvement in the development of future thematic research networks.

Organizing Committee
The Symposium will address a wide range of topics, including:
Our goal is to bring together international scientists, engineers, and industry experts to foster collaboration and advance progress in these dynamic and rapidly evolving fields.
Since 1996, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences has been organizing the international scientific and professional symposium titled Non-metallic Inorganic Materials: Production – Processing – Application. The first five symposia provided a comprehensive review of scientific and professional activities across all areas of non-metallic inorganic materials. These events brought together scientists and experts from universities, institutes, and businesses whose primary focus is the production and processing of non-metallic mineral raw materials, as well as their applications.
In 2006, the symposium evolved into the Metallic and Non-metallic Materials: Production – Properties – Application, expanding its scope to include metallic materials, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
The most recent symposium took place in April 2023, with a significant number of authors from both Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad participating.
The plenary speakers were:
The general sponsor of the symposium was AD Harbi d.o.o. Sarajevo, and the event was sponsored by BH Telecom.
Welcome to the MNM 2025, which will take place from 24 to 25 April 2025 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina
